Johanssy Joseph may be playing the most physical chips in the PNIA Main Event as he nears 1,000,000.

There are thousands of the yellow T1,000 chips in play and if you were to look at Johanssy Joseph’s stack, you would think it was him who owned all of them. Joseph has been chipping all day and while it is a little tough to guess what the exact total of Joseph’s chip count, it’s fair to reason he’s right on the edge of moving over 1,000,000

Joseph and Shan Rizvi tangled in a pot that shipped even more chips over to Joseph’s perpetually growing stack.

From early position, Joseph opened to 31,000 and Rizvi called from the cutoff to see a AA♠3 flop. Joseph continued for 33,000 and Rizvi called to see the 5♣ hit the turn. Joseph verbalized a check and Rizvi took the betting lead for 41,000.

Joseph called and the 2♣ river was checked by both players. Joseph turned over A♣9♠ for trips to take in the pot as he nears the chip lead. With Joseph’s tournament end game experience, it is fair to say he is among the favorites to make tomorrow’s final table.

48 players remain in the tournament and with a three-table redraw set to take place with 27 left, it will be interesting to see if that number is reached before the dinner break that will hit at roughly 6:45 pm.
