PNIA Main Event (Day 2): Schuyler Thornton Nearing 800,000

Level 22 (4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total PNIA Main Event Entries: 1,224
Total Players Remaining: 90
Chip Average: 272,000

Schuyler Thornton is making his move toward the chip lead after sending Kim Chul to the rail in a 400,000 chip pot.

More players are making their push to be the first to crack 1,000,000 and Schuyler Thornton is now among that group. Thornton just sent Kim Chul to the rail in a preflop confrontation and is now up to almost 800,000 as a result.

Michael Dentale opened from early position and Thornton flatted from the small blind only to have Kim Chul shove all-in from the big blind for 182,000 total. Dentale gave Chul a lengthy examination but decided to concede his option.

Thornton thought for a few moments and elected to call and saw his 99♠ trailed the 1010♠ of Chul. The flop could not have been more action packed as the 9♣ popped up in the window to give a Thornton a set. The 87♣ that followed behind it gave Chul a redraw for a straight.

The turn and river were bricks, though, and Chul hit the rail as Thornton picked up the pot. Todd Breyfogle’s table recently broke and he is now on Thornton’s direct left it what could soon develop into a very interesting dynamic.
