PNIA Main Event (Day 1C): Defending Champion In The Field

Total PNIA Main Event Day 1C Entries: 525

Kim Dao beat a field of over 1,000 to win the PNIA Main Event in April and will have to perform a similar feat to go back-to-back.

Poker Night in America was a massive hit the last time the series stopped in Choctaw. 1,064 players entered the main event to create a prize pool of over $1,500,000. When all was said and done, it was Kim Dao who walked away with the title and the $286,000 first place prize.

Dao is back in today’s field and ready to defend her title. On the road to her victory, Dao outlasted a talented final table that included Gregg Merkow, Andy Spears and 2016 One Drop final tablist Brian Green. Dao’s victory was the largest cash of her career and while it will be a tall task to repeat her championship feat, Dao is more than up the challenge.

Another Choctaw Main Event victory would place her in rarefied air as one of two players with two championship banners hanging from the Grand Theater rafters, joining Abraham Araya.
